What happens when theres goaltending with no time left on the clock in basketball?

Question by flaa: What happens when theres goaltending with no time left on the clock in basketball?
Basketball
Yes. Ok, but how do they time it? Say the ball leaves his hand with 2.1 seconds left on the clock, but it gets goaltended in mid-air with 1.1 left. Does the clock stop at 1.1, or continue to a later time, because the trajectory of the ball would naturally take longer to reach the basket?

if he release the ball in his hand before the time expire and someone would goal tending it, it would count. if the ball is in the air and there is no time left in the clock it would count.

The points would be awarded to the shooter. If the ball left the hand before the buzzer and the other team goal tends than you get the basket.

there would still be 1.1 seconds left on the clock because of the stoppage of play. There is no real benefit of goal tending a shot in order to stop the clock, u just added another basket for the opposing team.
