did you say the alternator is there to recharge the battery but don’t consider it a battery charger? when i have a dead battery, i get a jump start and then run the car on the highway to charge the battery. Is that wrong?

Hi, Can I make my car alternator more powerful for example, if it is 90amps, can I change it to 110amps?
Would it damage any electrical system or other?
If I change it, would it be better or make no difference? Because my car is a BMW e46 316i 2004 and I feel like it doesn’t have enough power but I’m not sure if the alternator is 90 or 110 but i predict its 90amps.

A powerful alternator? What does it actually do? Because all cars are 12v so what does it do?
Or what if I make my battery more powerful, what would happen?
But I added a few things to the car’s electrical system, Like a DVD player or more power 100-watt Light, and amplifier subwoofer, and angel eyes.
    Thanks

my durango was ground out. killed my battery. replaced it, and my alternator. both needed replaced, but there is also a fuse for the alternator to charge the battery. it ended out i needed all three. but the vehicle possibly needs a fuse. should be a fuse of higher amperage than the alternator puts out otherwise the fuse will blow from to much amperage through the fuse.

i have checked the plugs again to see if any more oil is leaking where the spark plugs are but it seems to be fine and fuses are fine also (i did the light check from one of your videos). My engine light wont come on untill i start driving for apprx 3km or when i reach a certain speed (say over 70km). Would it be some sort of an electrical problem?? and because it has a honda engine WHAT honda model would i gets parts from that will be the exact same as the ones in my Rover/Honda.

no manuals or anything! this model has the honda D series engine in it i believe. My car is having trouble starting. i took it to the mechanic and he changed the rockit gasket/seals and spark plugs. It still fires up but only if its been left for a while. if i try starting it with short intervals/stops in between it makes a cranking type noise (like its almost starting) but then its like it wont catch.

The thing about imports is that the engineers have very low tolerance when making the material, to where domestics, are all about production, get done and get it out…and once Honda and Toyota sold the majority to gm and ford, they screw them japs up

It only prevents it from engaging on modern vehicles. A lot of older cars can be “started twice” lol.

Check your grounds and look for any frays in your wiring harness that might cause a parasitic drain
