Grammy Award winner Patti Austin rallies her worldwide fans through Facebook, Twitter and a newly launched page on her website. Dedicated to the support of typhoon Haiyan victims, the website and social media properties will provide a place for supporters to find reputable organizations with which to funnel aid. Having fallen in love with the culture and its people last September while in the locale for a series of shows, the Philippines has indeed become a second home for the star. She said of her web outreach, My heart was broken watching the devastation on the land and its people. I could not possibly imagine the pain and misery that the typhoon victims had to endure. I knew there was something I could do to help. At the very least, I could bring attention to the critical need for clean water, food, blankets, tents, medicine, and other necessities for survival. By our show of support, we give our brothers and sisters hope to hang on to life.

The website page launched by Austin and her team endeavors to help visitors connect with international and local organizations that have reputable relief efforts and underlines how support can be given to them. The web page also highlights the latest information about ongoing relief efforts and stories from affected areas. Lastly, the web page is a resource for visitors to report a missing person.
