Question by The Questioner: What kind of investing results in a return to your bank account?
Rather than being held in some sort of a fund type deal? I’m thinking of investing soon and a guy I caddied for gave me the names of a few companies, I think they are mutual fund investment management companies, that keep my returns in what sounds like a Roth IRA. Is there any other kind of investing where the return goes into your bank account? I want to do the investing the guy suggested I do so I can have a nice nest egg when I retire in around 44 years. But I always thought investing gave you a physical return rather than having it be stored away.
I’m 18 if that matters.

Investing in companies that pay dividends. You then have the option of taking the dividend income or using it to buy more stock in the company.
