Types of Materials for Dildos

When you are shopping for bedroom toys, one of the first things you are going to want to consider is the types of material your vibrator or dildo is made of.  It’s probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of dildos, but they type of material your female vibrator is made of will make a huge difference when it comes to how you play with it and how long your vibrator will stay like-new.

The most common material for sex toys for couples, is PVC.  This is an inexpensive type of plastic that is easy to shape and which can be softened.  From a production standpoint, this is an ideal material, but from an every woman and her vibrator,  practical point of view, it has its drawbacks.  Primarily, it is highly porous and impossible to sterilize – something that is important if you are sharing your bedroom toys with more than one partner.  If your bedroom toys are made of PVC, make sure you wash them with an appropriate cleanser after each use to keep them as clean as possible.

Another popular, but more expensive, material for dildos is silicone rubber.  This is a higher-end, high-grade rubber that is durable and designed to stand up to extreme heat and chemical sterilization.  This means you can sleep easy knowing that your bedroom toys are  clean and sterilized after each use – you’ll pay a little more for them, but you’ll get peace of mind.

Other types of materials for dildos include stainless steel, Pyrex glass and ‘cyber skin’.  The first two are extremely easy to clean, but they are rigid and as such may somewhat impede your play – they are also often expensive.  Cyber skin is a synthetic material designed to mimic the look and feel of human skin- and when it comes to women and vibrators, it makes it uber sensual – but it is less durable than the other types of material for dildos and other types of vibrators, and requires more upkeep.
