What Is A Lake Trampoline

So what are lake trampolines?  Lake trampolines are basically a trampoline that can float.

People use the terms lake trampolines and water trampolines interchangeably. If you have ever been boating on an inland lake, you have probably seen a water trampoline floating in front of a dock, Lake Home, camp or resort.

Water trampolines come in different sizes and shapes.  Many of these trampolines are built for commercial use with steel springs and a steel frame.  The more peoplaketrampolinele that will be using it the stronger you want it to be. These tramps can support heavier loads and provide for a bigger bounce.

Water Bouncer vs. Lake Trampoline

Water trampolines are different from water bouncers.  Water bouncers or water platforms offer a great jumping platform without steel frames and springs. They are smaller than their counterparts and meant for play with just 1 or 2 people at a time.  They are not built to take a heavy load of people.

Water bouncers cost less than lake trampolines because they are smaller and made differently.  The bouncer has nylon netting on top of the inflatable.  This provides a shorter bounce. All you have to do to assemble the bouncer is blow it up and make sure it does not move about.  They are ideal for small families who want a less expensive option.

The top of the water trampolines and bouncers are called jumping surfaces.  Various sizes are available from10 feet square for a bouncer to 44 feet square for the trampoline. When referring to height, it means from the surface of the water to the top of the frame.  It can range anywhere from 26 inches to 42 inches above the water.  When talking about the diameter of the lake trampoline or bouncer, it means the surface, around it. It can be 12 to 25 feet round.

Setting up the Lake Trampoline

When deciding where to put a lake trampoline, think about how it will go up.  Usually, that requires a tow from a boat.  If there is no boat handy, why not think about getting a smaller trampoline that does not have to be moved by a water vehicle. A water bouncer will be much easier to place in the water because it weighs less and is smaller.

No matter the size of the trampoline, it should be moved in water that is at least 8-10 feet deep so diving and jumping off the tramp, will be safe. If you were to be launched into water that was shallow, you could be injured or killed.

When it comes to bouncers and trampolines for the lake, there can be different dangers compared to trampolines on land. You will need to anchor your trampoline or bouncer.  If it is not anchored right, it can float away and close to something dangerous. Use a minimum of 60 pounds when anchoring the lake trampoline. When anchoring your lake trampoline, do so 30-40 feet from docks and boats.

It goes without saying, that both bouncers and lake trampolines should be used by only children and adults who can swim well.  Also, it is never a good idea to use the trampoline as a dock. If you have any more questions about water trampolines and bouncers, Read More here>
