This is troubling about how we eat—and how we farm. Very informative.

Some commenters are saying ‘Demand grass-fed cows!’. While that may be a
way to increase demand for better-fed, healthier animals, I would like to
suggest we take it one step further. I say “Demand more plants!”. Plants
have no cholesterol, and I personally think that broccoli is much tastier
    than cow corpses.

After watching this and a similar documentary about the food supply, I’ve
spent a few hours shopping around for grass-fed beef in my city. Lol.

Each of us are economic actors acting in our own self interest. It is the
government subsidy that causes the over production of corn and the cheap
production of Corn Sweetener. Slowly remove the subsidy and the markets
will react accordingly. Subsidies distort markets.

whole foods sale grass fed beef. Do expect to pay around $24 for two
steaks, but hospital bills are a lot more expensive.

    Excellent to watch and learn!

“King Corn” is a feature documentary about two friends, one acre of corn,
and the subsidized crop that drives our fast-food nation.

In the film, Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, best friends from college on the
east coast, move to the heartland to learn where their food comes from.
With the help of friendly neighbors, genetically modified seeds, and
powerful herbicides, they plant and grow a bumper crop of America’s
most-productive, most-subsidized grain on one acre of Iowa soil. But when
they try to follow their pile of corn into the food system, what they find
raises troubling questions about how we eat—and how we farm.

This is the cause of so much sickness in Americans….we should demand
grass feed cattle for our own benefit…it’s best to pay more for food and
less for hospitalization…don’t you all agree! Ms. Ernestine Gwendolyn
Standberry, International Prolife (Proactive for a better life and also
against Roe v. Wade), etc., CAN-TV PRO Americans should learn to eat
better and less for health purposes!

Wanted to share this video on corn.
It is long but worth the time.
It confirms why we should be careful and know what we are consuming.

Plants can grow almost twice as fast but that varies on the plant. Please
show me a vegetable that produces in 2 days.

We have HFCS because of fear. 45 years ago the farm program was changed
because there was a fear of extreme over population and starvation. The
fear was caused by a book called The Population Bomb. The predictions in
    the book did not happen.

Now we have a new fear/Hoax. The fear/hoax is global warming, which was
caused by another erroneous book. Recently, scientists from around the
world have concluded the temperature of the earth has only increased by
0.11F in the last 15 years, a number very close to zero. ( Read – IPCC is
in full damage-control mode at forbes website)

Religion is the reason Civilization started in the first place. It
solidifed things like making murder, theft, and rape illegal, while
bringing people under one united cause. Atheism and science have been far
more destructive to mankind, just look to Hitler. He used Eugenics, a form
of Darwinism, to justify killing 6 million Jews and start a war that
claimed the lives of over 80 million people, more than all deaths
    associated with religion combined.

We need to invest more in hydroponics to be able to grow natural, organic
foods without the need for insecticide or herbicides. Hydroponics is 10x
more effecient at growing plants than land based farming, in some cases,
you can grow fruits and vegetables in a day or two, and it can be done year
round. Companies can keep their profits, and we the consumer get quality
fruits and vegetables for the same, or less cost, everyone wins.

Grow your own food then. It’s not hard or expensive. I just bought 15,000
seeds for assorted fruits and vegetables for $20 online. A little land,
even a small backyard, is more than enough space to make at least a lot of
the food you would need in a year.
