Sulphur Springs, TX (PRWEB) February 04, 2014
The Last Well (TLW), a nonprofit organization with the historic goal of providing clean water and the Gospel to the entire nation of Liberia by the end of this decade, has been invited to be a featured mission organization at Liberty Universitys Global Focus Week. The weeklong event is February 9-14. Liberty University is the largest private, nonprofit university in the nation; the largest university in Virginia; the largest Christian university in the world; and is home to more than 100,000 residential and online students.
Libertys Global Focus Week (GFW) is a semiannual conference aimed at raising global awareness among Liberty University students, faculty, staff and the local community. This years event will feature influential keynote speakers such as Samuel Thomas, Dr. Ronnie Floyd and J.D. Greear. The expo allows students to connect with a variety of diverse international endeavors, such as TLWs mission to save and improve the lives of more than 1.1 million Liberians with fresh water. Since its founding, TLW has completed 535 wells, bringing clean water to 488,808 Liberians, as well as sharing the Gospel with them.
Dr. Todd Phillips, Founder and Executive Director of The Last Well, is thrilled by the opportunity.
We have a chance to not only reach more than 100,000 students with our message, but also to work with key student leaders to start a Last Well Liberty chapter, Phillips said.
These young people will walk alongside others around the nation and around the world to see our vision through.
Phillips and his team will be speaking to student leaders, dormitory directors and dormitory residents early in the week, culminating in the Revive Liberia event in the Town Alumni Lecture Hall on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Part of the presentation will focus on TLWs new Pass the Bottle campaign, which gives people the chance to start a fund-raising campaign for just $ 10 less than the price of two large drinks at many coffee shops.
